Summer Thunderstorm

The laden air quickly fogs up the glass
as the wind carries darkened clouds past
The sky reverberates a mighty roar
as from the heights to the ground may droplets pour

From whence they came, graceful violence prevails
and a vast surge seen from below assails
Zeus delights in the deafening cacophony
which the wise men foretold in a recent prophecy

The smaller creatures care little at all
in their underground homes, they avoid the squall
They hunker down and wait for the rain
to abate and allow them to frolic again
